Calls + camaraderie: Women-to-women phone banking a success

Our women-to-women phone banking put in almost 2,000 calls to our targeted candidates’ districts — just days before ballots were mailed out earlier this month.

Many of the women we talked with were enthusiastic Dems who wanted to hear more about the down-ballot Legislative candidates Carol’s List supports. “Tell me everything,” a woman in Great Falls commanded one of our volunteers. Another woman we called told us, after hearing about the candidate and her progressive bona fides, “That’s what I’m looking for — you got me!”

Other women we spoke with during our phone banks already knew about our candidates. “I know her, I have her sign in my yard, and we need more women,” one voter said of our endorsed candidate Helena Lovick.

And one 83-year-old Billings woman we talked with about state Sen. Margie MacDonald simply said: “She is awesome.”
