Join us Jan. 17 for a Conversation with Carol’s List

Are you curious about what it's like to run for office? Are you interested in hearing stories from other Montana women who've run for office -- and won?

Join us in Bozeman on Friday, Jan. 17 for a Conversation with Carol's List. We're bringing together a panel of your current and former legislators to answer YOUR questions about campaigning, women's leadership, raising money, and anything else you're curious about.

Join us for a conversation about running for office and winning -- with women who are doing just that.

With special guests:

Laurie Bishop.png

Laurie Bishop has represented Livingston in the Montana Legislature since unseating a Republican in the 2016 election. She's run two successful campaigns, and has served two terms in the Legislature, where she is the Democratic Caucus Chair.

Emma Kerr-Carpenter.png

Emma Kerr-Carpenter represented Billings in the Montana House for the first time in 2019. She ran her first campaign for the Legislature in 2018. Emma is a member of the Northern Plains board and is active in her church. She loves spending time hiking in eastern Montana, cooking delicious meals, and spending time with her partner, Dan Cohn.

Kathleen Williams.png

Kathleen Williams is a three-term state legislator, sportswoman, music lover, and most recently, candidate for Montana's at-large seat in the United States House of Representatives. She’s a proven fighter with a 36-year career in natural resource planning and policy. During Kathleen’s six years representing eastern Gallatin County in the Montana Legislature, she passed bills that created 200 new small businesses in just three years, required insurers to stop denying care to cancer patients, and protected Montana businesses from being sued by their investors for not making decisions exclusively to maximize profit. After her service in the legislature, Kathleen stepped up to run for Montana’s lone seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. She came the closest of any candidate in more than 20 years to unseating an incumbent in that office. Now, Kathleen is running once again to bring her work ethic, integrity, and proven record of policy success to Congress, and she’s confident 2020 is her year.
